The Fun Family Frolic

Each year, Partnership’s PTA, volunteers, and staff work together to stage THE FROLIC - our school’s biggest FUNDRAISER. 

It's a Carnival, a Raffle, an Auction . . . a fun family event.

FROLIC proceeds help fund programs for the students like Art, P.E., the Library, building improvements, Cultural Arts and more.

What is the Frolic?

How does the Frolic make money?

What types of items are auctioned?

  • Weekend getaways, sports tickets, services, gift certificates to restaurants & stores, jewelry, toys, books, kitchen items, electronics, outings with teachers, and a variety of other items that are donated to the event.

Where do the auction items come from?

  • Auction items come from donations from our parents (which is why we need your help)
  • Watch for communications and requests from the Frolic committee! 
  • Local businesses and restaurants

What are grade-level baskets?

  • Each grade level is assigned a theme by the Frolic committee.
  • Parents are responsible for donating items, big or small, related to your grade-level theme. The Frolic committee will gather these items and create baskets, which will be sold at the auction.

What is the silent auction?

  • This occurs inside the gym at Mount Vernon School. Baskets & other auction items are displayed and everyone has an opportunity throughout the evening to bid on these items. When the auction closes at 7:30 pm, bid sheets are collected and the highest bidder receives the item.
  • Some items will have a "Buy it Now" price listed. You will have the option of purchasing these items for the price listed. See a Frolic Committee member at the auction for any “Buy it Now” purchases.

How do I know if I have won an item?

  • A copy of the bid sheet will remain next to each auction item after the bidding closes. The highest bidder’s name is highlighted. You will be able to check on any items you bid on to see if you were the highest bidder.
  • Committee members will be available to answer questions about specific items.

How do I pay for items I have won?

  • Cash, checks & credit cards will all be accepted at the Frolic.
  • You will need to pay for your items at the Frolic and then take them home with you.

Where does all the money raised go?

  • All income generated by the Frolic goes into the PTA budget.
  • The budget funds Art & library programs, building improvements, landscaping, Teacher Appreciation/Hospitality, supplies, annual awards, staff development and other expenses throughout the year.

How can I help?

  • By reading your newsletters and weekly Frolic communications to see what is needed
  • By helping children sell raffle tickets
  • By inviting friends and family to the Frolic
  • By coming to the Frolic and having a great time!

  • By volunteering to work a game shift. We ask each parent to sign up for at least one 30-minute shift
